It has just been announced that Oxford-based Vitaccess has been shortlisted for the 2018 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Start Up Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Vitaccess beat off some tough competition in order to make the regional shortlist for the Midlands, with a record number of businesses entering the awards nationally across the wide range of categories.

Now in its sixth year, the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards has celebrated some amazing entrepreneurs over the years, many of whom are now household names. Past winners include David Buttress of Just Eat, Julie Deane OBE of The Cambridge Satchel Company, James Watt of BrewDog and most recently, Hannah and Sophie Pycroft of Spectrum Collections.

Dr Mark Larkin, CEO and founder of Vitaccess had this to say when he received the news about his nomination: “I am thrilled to be nominated for the Natwest Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Our start-up Vitaccess is unique in giving patients a voice in real-world medical research. Our groundbreaking digital evidence generation programmes in cancer and rare/orphan diseases are revealing how diseases impact patients' daily lives, all in real-time."

"Being a start-up with a senior management team balanced 50/50 female/male, and the team as a whole being 80% female, I’m delighted to see I’m up against a majority of women! These awards show entrepreneurship knows no boundaries. Plus, I'm in the market for some glitter goodies for my three daughters!
