The Vitaccess team is proud to have been named one of the top 10 rising stars of UK tech in the Tech Nation 2019 competition.

After being selected from hundreds of applications and competing against 32 semi-finalists in January, Dr Mark Larkin and Dr Helen Williams went on stage this week – up against 19 other finalists - to deliver a winning pitch to the five judges. The judges were scoring on value proposition, current traction, scalability, competitive advantage, team experience and quality of the pitch.

Vitaccess takes home a package of support worth over £4,000 that includes: networking introductions to potential partners and investors; a tailored public relations campaign; accelerator sessions provided by programme sponsors, BDODrive; a £500 coupon for Microsoft Search Advertising and a 1:1 mentoring session with a member of the Bing team to boost their presence on the platform; as well as 1:1 legal support from TLT LLP’s fast growth team.

Dr Mark Larkin commented: “Being recognised as one of the top 10 rising stars is a fantastic validation for our team and all of the hard work that has gone into building our digital platform since 2017. We’d like to thank the whole Tech Nation team, including coaches, judges and sponsors, for an exceptionally well run competition and we’re looking forward to getting started on our winner’s package of support.

Dr Helen Williams added: “It’s been very exciting to be showcased in this high-profile competition and to have received expert pitch coaching and introductions to fellow innovators and start-up advisors and investors. The atmosphere amongst the finalists was spirited and supportive. Seeing our digital health app platform recognised as one of the ground-breaking tech innovations is very rewarding for us. We can’t wait to unlock further potential in Vitaccess with the help of our new Tech Nation network.

It’s been an exhilarating week all around as our Board of Directors met for the first time in London just two days after the Tech Nation win. Meet the experts who will help us take Vitaccess to the next stages of development.

While the directors were busy at these meetings, the rest of the team back in Oxford had all hands on deck organising our new office space. We move in properly next week and thank Oxford Centre for Innovation for their support in finding us our fourth office space solution since we joined their centre in 2017.

To wrap up this incredible week, on International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who represent 84% of our team.
